The Murungidyal (Healing) Paddles offer far more than a peaceful kayaking and camping adventure.
This unique experience creates meaningful connections between our youth and Emergency Services, fostering awareness and unity in the fight against mental health challenges and PTSD—supporting both first responders and our Indigenous brothers and sisters.
Immerse yourself in the tranquillity and beauty of regional NSW, share in the camaraderie of fellow first responders, and help empower young people to heal, connect and grow.
The 2026 Murungidyal Paddle unfolds in three stages:
Stage 1: 28 February - 01 March 2026. A two-day camp at Myuna Bay Scout Camp, where staff, students and participants from the NSW Central Coast will receive on-water instruction from Paddle NSW certified instructors.
Stage 2: 15 April - 20 April 2026. A five-day, 110 km kayak paddle along the Baaka/Darling River, uniting with the students and staff from the remote Far West of NSW — a powerful experience that celebrates unity, resilience, healing, and connection to Country.
Stage 3: 04 October - 09 October 2026. A five-day camp that reunites students and staff from the Far West of NSW with their coastal friends at Myuna Bay — strengthening the bond between the Coast and Far West communities of NSW.
Together, we paddle for healing, connection, and the promise of a stronger, more compassionate future.
